Land of the Unicorn | Kaziranga

February 20th - 24th

Wednesday to Sunday

Kaziranga | Land of the Unicorn

Limited to 7 participants

India is unique amongst all countries in the varied diversity present in the country. This is the only country where tiger, leopard, bear, lion and rhino are present. BPW takes you to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, in Lower Assam.

Although rich in bird and mammal species we will be concentrating on the following mammals: the Great Indian One-horned Rhinoceros, the Indian Wild Buffalo, the soft-ground Barasingha (a different sub-species from the hard-ground Barasingha of Kanha) and the Hog Deer.

We have four safaris in Kaziranga which will get us these species. Following this we will target some of the primates on the North East with a trip to Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary. Here we will target India's only ape, the Hoolock Gibbon, and other primates such as the Assamese macaque, the Capped Langur, the Pig-tailed macaque and the Stump-talied macaque.

Once our target species are photographed we will spend time photographing the amazing bird life of Kaziranga, our target species being the Pallas' fish-eagle and the Greater Adjutant stork.
